Let’s build a wall, anybody know where to get a good deal on a bulk supply of cement slabs?

Election 2016 Democrat vs Republican
Democrat or Republican, who will win?

Well the US Presidential election is almost upon us.  As a Canadian, I feel elections in the US affect us quite a bit so it is important to keep abreast of what is going on down there.  It is times such as this that I regret cancelling my cable subscription, it makes tracking the progress of the election issues a little harder to follow.  I’m truly scared of what is going to happen if the comb-over candidate actually wins this election.  The man is a hot head with very little tact, maybe it relates to the comb-over keeping his head extra warm so he doesn’t think before he speaks?

I don’t know that Clinton is a better choice but at least she has some knowledge of how a president should and should not behave (remember Monica-gate and Gennifer Flowers…) while in office.  She is worldly, having travelled outside of the USA many times as First Lady and Secretary of State, has met world leaders on many occasions so I think she would be diplomatic and tactful as a President.  Trump on the other hand has probably only dealt with foreign business leaders which don’t really equate to being the same as world leaders.  Peace and harmony in that respect has only been about how they can make more money together in business.  America could save some money should Clinton be elected, Bill has had a secret service detail since he was president, so if she were elected, it would turn into a two for one deal on the secret service costs to protect them both.

I will admit that I have not yet watched the first Presidential debate, although I intend to but I was following the Twitter feeds that night and laughing my ass off.  I think my favourite Tweet had to be from reporter Bruce Arthur – “As for Canadians, again guys, let’s start fashioning homemade weapons, building a secret network of tunnels, and assuming winter is coming”, umm, yah, I actually think this may be a really great idea.  A wall just like in Game of Thrones would also be a good idea to protect the North from a potential invasion from our friends to the South whom I expect will attempt to make a mass exodus shortly after the final election results have been tallied.

I saw a great post on Facebook yesterday about the election that went something like this – “Stopping Trump is a short term solution.  The long term solution, and it will be more difficult, is fixing the educational system that has created so many people ignorant enough to vote for Trump.”.  It is unfortunate that the man appeals to the sexist, redneck bigots of the country, his racist and hateful remarks about minorities, women and religions are truly appalling.  It is also unfortunate that what I can see happening is big business would be a winner during a Trump presidency, the little people who would vote for him would be the losers.  Yes, they may get jobs in the companies owned by big business but that remains to be seen, with a guy who is business oriented, the goal is to make profit using any means necessary.  In my opinion, I would suspect that big business still will not be bringing their jobs back to America, the larger profit margin still exists when outsourcing manufacturing work to other countries like China.

I think the humans of the world need to be on alert for election day November 8.
